OK-my J-Retro is up for grabs for only $100 but there's a catch-
It's kind of a sad story - the result of my idiotic tinkering. Everything works fine, but the middle of the three pots is wonky.
I was messing with the split-shaft pot in the middle, when I snapped one of the halves of the split shaft right off. Lots of Gorilla glue and an hour or so later, I got the missing piece back on, held well enough that when I screwed the knob back on, it held. Gorilla Glue isn't really made to stick metal to metal, but the set screw holds it in place well enough to function.
In the process, however, enough glue got on the pot that it is a little more difficult to independently the bottom stack from the top stack. You can do it, but sometimes you have to hold one in place to turn the other.
Oddly-it actually feels tighter and more secure than before - the top part of the stack was a little wobbly before the glue.
This is a great preamp, and I put a couple of scratches in the control plate in my tinkering. Tried to photograph it (third pic) - there are three little scuffs.
Again - it functions, but it's glued. I can't guarantee it will hold forever, and I haven't tried it out since I messed it up. It seems secure, though, if not as beautiful as it once was.
This preamp is $300 new. I got it for a little less than $200.
You can have it for $100 shipped - as is - I snipped it out of my bass, so the wires in the pics are what you get. No jack. I will include the battery harness if you want - forgot to take it out of the bass.
I just want it gone so I can forget about what an idiot I was!
