FS: Lace Alumitone "soapbars" $100 shipped!

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale is a pair of Lace Alumitone P-90s.
These have been modded to fit (at Lace's instruction)
and mounted into a pair of black soapbar pickup covers.

These are in 3.95" x 1.25" covers, for a 4-string bass.
This is the Bartolini "P2" route, and should fit many basses
including Lakland Skylines, Cort/Elricks, and other import instruments - they will work to replace the Korean-made "Bartolini" MK1s.

These are the original pickups used in the Lace Helix basses,
before the BassBars were developed.
They are very similar in architecture to the Alumitone P pickup.

These will take as much as half a pound off the weight of your bass - you will instantly notice the difference!

Tonally, they are very 'smooth' and wide sounding, with no peakiness. They work great with active preamps for a clean, uncolored sound that really lets the tone of the bass and the string do the work, rather than imposing its own sound on the instrument.

Asking $100 shipped for the set. SOLD!
Please PM for questions - I'm not great about seeing the thread posts.

I don't have pictures right now - they're just black rectangles, anyway.

Thanks!

Would they fit in Spector NS2000/5 basses? I've been meaning to replace the pick ups in my already awesome sounding bass that has an Audere preamplifier and need better quality pick ups.

I believe these Spectors have EMGs, which are different sized pickups (wider and shorter)...

This is probably correct - most Spectors use the EMG shape pickups.

However, it's easy enough to check.
The pickups should be basically 1 1/4" x 4", give or take a bit.

NOTE: these do work for 5-string, but only with a NARROW spacing. They do fine for a 16mm or possibly even 17mm, but they are not wide enough for a 19mm spacing.
I know the Spectors are narrow anyway - but I thought I should mention that.

Cheers,
Martin
