I just bought a pack of TI Jazz flats yesterday and put them on my '69 Starfire. Although I did measure them first and knew that there would be a bit of string on the E and G tuning posts, I didn't think it through and put them on anyway. I now realize that this probably isn't a good thing and so I'm going to go back to my Chromes. These are amazing strings and I wish I could keep them, but alas, there's nothing I can do.
These were on my bass for just over 24 hours. Note that my bass has a 2+2 tuner arrangement, so the D and G strings might be cut too short if yours is 4 in line.
