I have a matched quartet of SED Winged C 6550 Power tubes. These are used but have plenty of life left in them. they go for $130 new for the quartet.

Are any of the center pins broken?

How can you tell if they're still good? how much life left in them?

Are they better quality than E-H 6550's?

Sorry for all the questions....I'm new to tubes.

nothing is broken. i like the tone better than EH tubes (used to have them). you can tell they still are good cause they still work. power tubes have a really long life span unlike their preamp tube counterpart. these were barely used, maybe 50 hours at very most.

The best 6550's available other than NOS and a bargain.
