FS: Mike Pope Onboard pre

Sign in to disble this ad
I had this preamp made for me by Mike Pope, but I never got around to putting it in one of my basses. Pre is MINT. Config is vol/tone,blend,treb,bass and passive/active switch. Tone works in passive and active. 18v, 40Hz bass and 4kHz treb . Im sure Mike could reconfigure the pre if needed. $350 shipped usa.

Ill trade for an Enigma Q-Balls or Boss RC2+cash.

It's very similar but not the same. I can make it pretty much like the LAST version of the Fodera preamp, but the current version is totally exclusive and can only be bought through Fodera. They will sell you one, though.

The Fodera preamp is not that expensive, actually. Or I could build you one to suit you. Or you could buy this one and have me set it up the way you want it. But don't bother reverse engineering it. Sounds like a fun project, but the time it takes isn't worth it. By the time you draw the schematic, find all the parts (some of which are custom and you'd have to buy from me anyway...and almost none of which you can buy at RS), build it, troubleshoot it...even at $15.00 an hour you'll never make it worth it. If you're a trained EE and you make $100.00 per hour or more, forget it. Just buy one. You can always get more money, but time is gone forever once you've used it.

Lol.....I know. I was kidding. I am really tempted to buy this. Is it very hard to wire? I have no background in electronics whatsoever.

Now another stupid question. I am currently building my own bass and if I had this pre-amp installed, would I also need one of your MPP1 external preamps as well?

You wouldn't need it, but you should buy it anyway.

Right on, Dave!

It's not hard to wire. Let me know if you buy it and I'll send you an installation diagram.

Mostly just pops and clicks

Seriously, I don't know. Dig around on TB here. I think there's some stuff. Thing is, they're mostly custom, so they all sound a little different.
