Trying to buy a new body, I am a sucker for sunburst. This sale thread is for the body only, not the neck. I can also throw in a nice brown suede Levy's strap, 2" wide. And I can also throw in my Behringer BDDI, their clone of the Sansamp BDDI. I have owned both, they sound the same to me and have almost identical features. My Behringer can run on batteries only, there is something wrong with the AC plug-in. I tried many compatible AC and DC adapters. None worked. But it works fine on batteries. Anyway, back to the main sale thread:
To finance the purchase of that MIM 'burst body reference above, I am putting my MIM 2004 Agave Blue J-bass body up for sale. I bought this body as part of a complete MIM bass, here on TB, from Denny (MasterBass). The story on the bass was that it had been used very little, and apparently had the original strings on it when Denny got it! The original neck is now gone, I sold it when I bought the fretless neck that is now on the bass.
The body itself is in excellent condition. There are a couple of scratches on it, and two small hairline cracks in the finish, at the curves in the body just above and below the neck pocket. If you take a close look at the photos in the picasa album, you can see them. They don't show up in some of the photos, the angle has to be just right. I'll take more closeups of the cracks and post those as well if need be. These flaws are not visible to an audience, no matter what angle the performer is facing.
There are several upgrades. All of the parts for the upgrades were purchased here on TB in the classifieds:
-Gotoh 201 bridge, chrome finish, shiny and as-new. This is a very nice bridge. I really like the slotted grooves, holds the strings in place much better than stock, and much easier to unload and re-load a set of strings than is the case with a stock bridge.
-Fender MIA J-bass pups which I installed myself.
-Nice pearloid pick guard. Has 2 extra holes drilled in it for a cover. I never even notice the holes. The pg is very slightly warped, causing a very, very slight separation from the body north of the neck pickup, at the top of the pg. See if you can notice it in the picture.
Body is in excellent shape and you can see for yourself by

Here is how it sounds in a live mix. With a fretless neck and the gear listed in my sig. Most settings flat or close to it. Tone rolled off slightly.
