Up for sale is a set of MIM Fender Jazz pickups from a 2004 bass. These are the type that are different sizes, not the old style that used identical sizes for both pickups. I am selling because I decided to install a set of USA pickups instead.
Here is a pic. A friend took some photos of my 3 basses, and this photo is the one that shows the closest view of the MIM pups.
The lead wires are nice and long on this set, and I will include extra foam under padding from some material I used. I will include the original foam as well. I cut it off of the bottom of the pickups because I was going to use them for the new pickups, but decided that I had some foam at home that could do a better job.
Here is a sound clip that highlights the tone of these pickups. Recorded direct into my Zoom H2. I ran my bass into a Korg PXB 3 using the "70's" setting, and played over top of this live track of my jazz band. I turned on the bass reducer on my ipod when I recorded this demo, to help highlight the new bass part. This song features the bridge pickup only. There are other tracks that feature both pickups. The "short demo" is one. Although it is not all that short, not sure why I named it that way...

One other thing, I was using a set of Fender 9050L (old formula) flats for this recording.
The first 5:30 is the bridge pickup soloed. Then there is a section with both pups together. I did not record just the neck pup. And please forgive the very lousy bass playing and intonation muffs. I had just bought the fretless when I made the recordings and had never played fretless before...
My price is
$30 but feel free to make me a reasonable offer $25 shipped USPS First Class, unless the stamp to your door cost more than $5, then you pay that difference. If you want me to ship a different method, no problem, we can work that out too. The pickups are packed in a very sturdy box which has wonderful padding for protection. My new pups shipped in this box and it worked great. I will ship to the lower 48. I do not ship outside the lower 48.
