Got a Moses neck here for sale.
This is a pretty great neck - very solid and smooth, and in pretty good shape except for a couple issues. There are a couple surface cracks on the face of the headstock which were repaired by a previous owner using cyanoacrylate. They are still noticeable and bumpy but you have to be within a couple yards of the bass to know they're there. There is a thin chunk of graphite missing from the top contour of the headstock when you look at it top down. I tried to picture these issues in my photos but it was a little difficult (mainly the last two photos.) Bottom line is, they are cosmetic only and will not affect the bass. If you want a pristine neck, this is not it. If you don't care about cosmetics, you probably won't care. I *do* care about cosmetics, very much, and they don't bother me. The rest of the neck is shiny, glossy, and smooth lest maybe a few tiny scratches/dings here and there.
Neck plays and sounds very nice - warm tone, not harsh or sterile. Frets are great. Per a previous owner, it was set up and Plekked by luthier Phil Jacoby.
Dimensions per a previous owner:
1.690" (1 -11/16") width at the nut
Depth at 1st fret .810", 3rd .840", 5th .860", 7th .900, 12th .980
Neck shape feels thinner than a C shape.
-Includes black Schaller tuning machines and string tree installed. E-tuner is missing small black paint spot in the back.
-Bone nut.
-No Moses brass neck inserts. Instead it has what looks to me like regular steel bolts.
-Bolts and black neck plate included
-Mother of pearl face dots
$245 o.b.o. shipped, lower 48, including Schaller tuners and string tree. I really don't want to take the tuners off but I will consider it for a serious buyer and knock a bit off the price.
