Never used for a project. Shipped to you (lower 49 states) for $145.
I was looking for an alternative to DarkStars, as i do have a P bass with darkstars. From what i can tell, the Big Singles are unique and closest to the DS from Nordstand. Stew at Nordstrand says they are his favorite of their pickups and added
The Dark Star has this really beautiful, lush low end and low midrange response that is incredible. I think our Big Single is a bit more aggressive and a bit brighter sounding, but it is also more balanced in that it has more to offer in the higher midrange and at the top end. With the tone control rolled back (especially in a passive instrument) you will be able to get some of what the Dark Star is known for, but they are different designs and they have very different coil structures.
I suppose i will end up wanting to install these in the future and will have to buy them again, but for now i need to consolidate.
