FS: NOS American Schecter Jazz Bass Neck

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought this to put on my dream bass in the future, but with a baby on the way and wedding in a couple of weeks, I'm going to have to let this go. I believe this neck is from the early 80's or late 70's. There was a ton of fake Schecter stuff going around in the past and I wouldn't trust anything without the Schecter logo burned into like this one has.

American Schecter parts are as high quality as it gets and are super rare. I've never seen anything unused and NOS like this one. I try to pick up any and all US Schecter stuff that I can get my hands on. This neck is WAY nicer than anything by Warmoth or Fender. I would compare it to US Lakland and Sadowsky. The neck has never been mounted on a bass. Other than a tiny ding on the back of the neck, it's in new condition.

The neck is maple with some nice birdseye in it. The fretboard is a beautiful jet-black piece of ebony with mother of pearl markers on it. It has a nice thin profile at the nut and the satin finish is super slick and fast.

I really don't want to sell this.

Price: $279 plus shipping. This is a STEAL on such a beautiful neck.

Schecter guitar research used to make some excellent instruments and the best parts in the USA, unfortunately, it didn't survive the Japanese onslaught of the late 80's and 90's, thus getting gobbled up. Fantastic piece.

Thanks for the kind words guys! It's good to some other people in the know on this stuff.

I looked at the radius when I got home last night. Although I don't have any way to actually measure it, I think I have a pretty good idea. It's a bit flatter than a Fender, but not completely flat at all. I'm going to guess it's pretty close to a 10" to 12" radius. It seems to be pretty close to the Sadowskys I used to own.

Following This...

I am amazed this is (or was) available for so long. It's premium stuff and (priceless), aged to perfection. Kudos to the purchaser!! Likely last a lifetime w/ minimal adjustments!

Great news!! As quoted by my "authenticating tech"...

"Larry - that looks righteous to me. I think late 70s. The fret edges are no big deal if the neck is straight and it is a good fret job. Pretty cool piece with birdseye."

Thanks for a great neck and a sweet deal. I think I've found a matching early '80s body...
