These things rock!! You have a tube amp that sound great at home, but maybe gets a little mushy in the mix? This tube is the cure!! I and many others have used the NOS Telefunken with our Aguilar DB750 amps with great results! I'd never use a DB750 again without it. It retains all the vintage vibe of the amp, plus tightens up the low end, so you never get lost in the mix.
A great investment that took my DB750 from great to the best sound I've ever had. I've used my DB750/GS410 rig in countless rooms, many of which have had boomy stages or otherwise terrible acoustics for bass. With the Telefunken tube in the V1 slot, I would leave my amp set flat and it worked in every room and on every stage. I could always hear myself on stage, while retaining that supportive lowend that never got out-of-hand.
I can't say enough good things about this tube. It's been a life saver!
$75 shipped. Works flawlessy, as it has since I bought it about 1 year ago.

I have one of these Tele Selected tubes in my Eden, and it is truly remarkable. It blows away the Mullard, Amperex, Siemans, and even other Tele tubes I have used in the past. These are very highly prized by audiophiles, and for good reason. You are not exaggerating how good these sound. There is absolutely no comparison between these and newly manufactured tubes.

What's the significance of that? Are there one's without it? |

As the price of these goes up due to the lack of supply, there are those who will take a cheap Russian or Chinese tube and simply silkscreen the Tele, Amperex or Mullard logo on it, and sell a $5 tube for sometimes in the hundreds of dollars, depending on the tube and the test readings. But Telefunken tubes all had the diamond in the bottom, which is formed while the glass was in a semi viscous state. It verifies the authenticity of the tube. Some other tubes seemingly from other manufacturers (such as Fisher and Dynaco) will have the diamond as well, which indicates that it was actually OEM’d to that company from Telefunken. The Selected Tubes were tested for matched triode output at the factory, and a piece of cloth tape with that designation was stuck on it. They were used for medical applications and other areas that had requirements for really clean output. And they had a very refined evacuation process, which means that they last a very long time due to the lack of potential oxidation within the tube.

That's a lot of really great info! I see you're from Alaska, too. I was born and raised in Juneau. Thanks for the info above! |
