FS: 5-String 2TEK Bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
Greetings! I recently (and kind of accidentally) won a 5-string 2TEK bridge on ebay. Since I already have one waiting to be installed, I figured I would offer it up for sale (although I probably would end up using it eventually). I have not yet received it, but here is how the seller described it:

"Up for auction is an extremely rare 2TEK 5-string bass bridge! These haven't been made for years and are nearly impossible to find, but are highly sought-after for the incredible sustain and tone they bring to an instrument. Here's your chance to own one... They made two version of this bass bridge, one with a narrow baseplate and one with a wide baseplate; this auction is for the one with the wide baseplate... Mounting screws are included; installation templates are not."

I am asking $210 (PayPal) shipped (CONUS only), firm for now. That's what I won it for.

I do have a complete set of installation instructions and templates that are not for sale, but may consider loaning if a deposit is given (I'll have to figure out the best way to arrange that).

I would trade for a MarkBass Little Mark 500 / 800 or a Carvin BRX212, but I don't have much (or any) cash to throw in. It just would not be a fair trade for you unless you want the 2TEK badly enough.

Here's a cutaway of a bass routed for 2TEK installation. It is quite an extensive mod, not for the faint of heart.

Here are pics of my 4-string FrankenFender (idk if there is anything Fender left on it) with the same older style 2TEK on it. Coupling with the Moses Graphite neck gives it a very cool sound. I plan to install the other 5-string 2TEK on a Peavey GV (has a carbon fiber neck).

Just got it in, it is in very nice shape except for the slightest of dents taking one of the corner mounting holes slightly out-of-round. Of course, it is the one just barely obscured in the photo. I'll see if I can fix it.

I have discovered that the resonator plate on the bridge is slightly bent. Special thanks to the seller on ebay for not disclosing this. If I can repair it, I may relist. Otherwise, I suppose it is no longer for sale at this time.
