Very clean set of GB9s, with very little use, off of one of my P bass builds that I recently parted out. There are some extremely light surface scratches that were hard to capture with my camera, and a very thin, light wear line around each string post where it contacted the headstock bushing. I purchased these as NOS off Ebay, as Gotoh discontinued the GB9s about 4 years ago.
The GB9s represent Gotoh's first evolutionary design improvement over the stock all-steel Fender/Gotoh GB8 tuner that Fender still uses on most of their American Vintage basses.
Design upgrades:
• Reversible/modular parts: tuners can be disassembled and reconfigured for lefty and/or 2x2 headstock configs
• Flat-back mounting plates: tuner installs flat against headstock, which makes these tuners WAY quicker and easier to install compared to a set of stock Fender/Gotoh GB8s.
• Recessed allen set-screw in end of tuner stem allows player to adjust turning stiffness of tuner stem; can also be snugged up over years of playing to remove looseness of parts from use.
Weight-wise, these tuners sit somewhere between the older/heavier Fender/Gotoh GB8s and Gotoh's newest GB640 Res-O-Lite tuners. If you're looking for a good "upgrade" reverse tuner, and don't want to flip the coin for the Res-O-Lites, these are a fine option.
Used/excellent mounting screws and bushings also included.
