Its an Ampeg Scrambler clone and as such has two controls:
Blend and Texture - There is no Volume or Gain/Drive controls (as with the original)
Blend is just a clean blend - minimum is dry, maximum is wet.
Texture seems to work backwards to the Scrambler RI that i had. If you crank the texture you get the most low end. This is where it sounds most traditional and IMO, the most useful for a bass player. As you dial the Texture back, it starts to thin out the sound but adds an aggressive octavia-type sound.

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7715939 (be wary, i do talk quite a bit) - VTbass is set to the 'flat' setting discussed elsewhere on this forum - Ie: Bass,Mid and Character just past noon, highs at about 10 and Drive is at minimum.
It bares some sonic similarities to both the B:Assmaster and the Prunes and Custard - mainly because its a Harmonic octave up sorta drive pedal. Its not a balls out fuzz, and its not a subtle overdrive, its somewhere in between.
I should note that Quasar sounds mental on guitar - absolutely mangles chords.
>>Its simple, but there is a fair bit of tonal variety.
>>Its about half the size of the Ampeg Scrambler (the Quasar is about the size of a Boss Pedal)
>>Its got an Status LED (which the Scrambler doesnt)
>>Seems solidly put together and I like the paisley pattern
>>Seems that there is no loss of lows with both controls at maximum.
