For sale is this Frankenstein'ed Precision Bass body, as shown and described.
I'm asking $80 shipped in the 48 States via USPS Parcel Post. I would be interested in trading for a Boss TU-2 or TU-3.
The body has been routed out for a Musicman-style humbucker pickup in the bridge position as well as opened up around the P pickup area to accomodate a J pickup or perhaps another humbucker?
There are four pots with knobs in a V/V/T/T configuration, with the output jack located on the side of the body. All hardware (pickups, electronics, pickguard screws, neck plate and neck screws, output jack, bridge, strap buttons) is included. The body appears to be three-piece as there is a noticeable seam between pieces of wood at one end of the P rout.
The body is very clean except for a small chip or dent on the side of the body that looks to have been filled with Wite-Out! The routing for the MM-style pickup is decent but a bit sloppy in my opinion -- see pictures. I played this bass before disassembling it recently and the current pickup configuration was surprisingly punchy! I wanted to get a P pickup set and a new pickguard and use this with a but my priorities have changed...
(I can include a horrendous orange pickguard that was on the bass when I received it which is cut for the J pickup in the neck position... I doubt it's really useful as it looks handmade and has the J cutout off-center from the neck/strings!)
