FS: Schaller/Fender style Hipshot D-Tuner

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys - Here's a Schaller/Fender style open-gear elephant-ear Hipshot D-Tuner. Most of you know what this is; if you don't, it's a replacement tuner that incorporates a clever lever that allows you to instantly drop your low E string to a D (or whatever else you choose to tune it to). I have one on all of my regular basses, but this one came from an Ibanez Destroyer that I'm in the process of converting to 8 strings, and I don't think I can manage two Hipshots on an 8-string, and I hate open-gear tuners anyway, so this one has to go.

Stew-Mac sells these for around $65 brand-new, so this one, still in good shape and complete with the four special flat-head screws necessary for its operation, will go for $40 plus a few bucks for shipping.

Thanks!

Good Grief! I had no idea there were so many different versions of this thing! Comparing mine with the photos on Hipshot's website, I'd have to say that this most closely represents a BT1 model, which is listed as fitting "Music Man or G & L".

I guess I should have listed the relevant measurements on this thing. I'll do that when I get home tonight...

Okay, I got a chance to measure this thing, and here are the stats:

- Tuner post is 9/16"
- Bushing fits a 21/32" hole
- Lateral distance between screw holes (center-to-center) is 36mm
- Longitudinal distance between screw holes (c-to-c) is 21mm on the gear side, and 18mm on the post side

Hope this helps!
