I have a set of Made in W Germany Schaller tuners I pulled from a 4001 Rickenbacker. Yes they were on a Rick I worked on for my guitar player. They did perform their function of tuning the bass since they were in-line two were utilized correctly and the other two were not so to speak. The tuners say they are in perfect working order despite being on a Rickenbacker. They turn clockwise and counterclockwise w no "ill effects" they are very solid machined precise tuners!!!
Pics are very detailed but I assure you none of the Gold has worn off despite what you may think u are seeing. nut and washer included no screws sorry.
