FS: Squier Preamp from Deluxe Active Jazz V

I'm converting my DAJV to passive (I defretted it and now this preamp sounds to "modern" and "hot" for a fretless bass)
The preamp is about 1.5 years old. If you want to know how it sounds, go to your local GC and try one of these basses. It gives a very modern active slap sound, sounds very tight. Or do a search on the bass in this forum and see what many who own it think of it's sound. You'll find more pro's than con's.

This preamp is a 3-band. Treb, Bass, Mid and mid-freq cut/boost slap switch. 4 pots. Vol, Blend, Mid and Treb/Bass is a stacked pot, and one chrome mini-toggle switch. Comes with ALL knobs (chrome). It is all wired up. You just have to wire in the battery (also included), pickups and input jack. (jack & pickups not included)

You'll also get a pretty good "instructional" of where to connect your wires (written up by me).

So if you have a Jazz bass (or any bass for that matter) that you're looking to "spruce up" I think this is your ticket. Might be a great project for a modded SX jazz!!!!

inexpensive, too!
looking to get $45 shipped CONUS. Will ship to our good friends outside US as well, for whatever extra that costs.
paypal only.

I'm trying to figure out what is so not-so-appealing about this preamp. I keep reading about how so many people lofe the sound of the DAJV bass.
To give some sort of comparison to say, an Aguilar OBP-3 (yeah, I know)...

I actually put an OBP-3 into the DAJV this preamp came from. After about an hour of playing, I put this preamp back into it. Why? This preamp just sounded more "ballsy" to me. Very raw and gritty with the right settings. The OBP-3 sounded too clean and refined for my tastes. Call me a weirdo, but I found a bit more tonal capabilities with thtis preamp over the OBP-3...more dynamic adjustments.

Why am I selling this one? i changed the bass over to passive only for a more traditional sound...it's defretted and with this preamp, it sounded to "hot & modern" as a fretless (for me).

Any passive pickup can be wired to this preamp. All you need is 2 wires, a ground and hot wire. Not sure how many wires your EMG's have....my Stock Squier pups have 3 wires per pickup, but 2 of them went to ground, and one was hot. The blend pot is a 2-tier pot, one hot wire connects to top tier, the other hot wire to bottom tier.

still available...

Since I don't get a chance to check every post I put up, please PM me with any questions. That way I can get back to you in a timely manner.

This preamp is very "hot"-sounding, very bright. It could probably wake up a dark & lazy bass. It has big bottom, too.
I tried the preamp out with stock Squier Affinity V pickups & Hold on to your hat, Lois!!!! Makes the passive Affinity sound like it's on Steroids!
