FS: Used Delano 5-string P-bass pickup, model "PMVC 5 FE/M2" for $80

For sale: one Delano "PMVC 5 FE/M2" split-coil humbucking pickup for 5-string bass, for the low price of $80 (USD) in USED condition.

I acquired this pickup along with a bass body, and for various reasons this pickup will not work for me. It is a typical two-piece pickup with exposed polepieces. I believe that it was intended for 16mm string spacing. (This didn't work for me, because my bass has wider string spacing.)

The pickup is USED but it is in good condition. I have tested it and it sounds VERY MEATY. It has lots of the low-end strength that you'd expect in a P-bass pickup, but with a good amount of added clarity and treble detail. I enjoyed using it so much, that I ordered a similar Delano pickup (with the correct string spacing) for this bass project.

In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that I used some adhesive cement to "pot" the pickup and more firmly attach the shells to the armatures inside. This required me to carefully remove the shells and spread the cement around. I did this in order to cut down on the "clicky" tapping sound that the pickup shells made when my fingers happened to contact them. This is apparently a problem with a lot of exposed-polepiece pickups, so I decided to fix it. As a result of this treatment, there are some small areas on the top of the pickup shell which look a bit funny, as a result of contact with the adhesive cement. This is a cosmetic issue only, and does not affect the sound or reliability of the pickup.

I'll be posting some pictures shortly.

Pictures

----

I'm sorry to report that the original model label has been damaged. You can see a portion of it in the last picture. However, I have verified that the model number is accurate.

Pickup will be sold with its 4 mounting screws, but no original packaging or documentation.

----

I re-measured the polepieces, and found that they were exactly 15mm apart. This would probably be correct string spacing for a 5-string bass with ~17mm string spacing, assuming that you have mounted this pickup in its "correct" location. However, this pickup would not be an ideal match with a wider 5-string bass (e.g. 19mm string spacing). Please keep that in mind.
