FS : Used Fralin J Pickups w/Staggered Poles - XLNT Cond

Sign in to disble this ad
Features raised A and D poles (+.030") to better accommodate the tighter 7.25" fretboard radius of vintage Jazzes. These would also work great for larger fretboard radii in the 9.5" range.

I bought these new back in Feb 09 and they've only been installed in my Jazz, meaning they haven't been passed around and are in excellent condition. Plenty of length on the wire leads, lead connections are solid, coil windings are great. I'm selling them because I slightly prefer the Nordy NJ4s. Will ship these with the Fender pickup mounting foam and new mounting screws shown. Drag and drop installation.

Specs: (from the Fralin website)
Standard vintage wind and materials, ALNICO V magnets, 42 gauge Heavy Formvar wire, hand winding, cloth wire, etc.

Resistance figures for this set:
Bridge: 8.80 Ohms
Neck: 8.30 Ohms

These list for $180 on Best Bass Gear, and on Fralin's website.
$130 firm, shipped CONUS, with insurance and delivery confirmation.
PayPal only.

Nope, they're standard wound.
They've got a nice smooth vintage jazz sound and, IMO, are just a hair darker than Nordstrand NJ4s. I recently measured the resistance values of these Fralins and a new pair of NJ4s. They're very close to each other.
