FS: Vintage 1970 Fender Jazz body part out

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently scored a 1970 Fender Jazz body matched with a late 70's P neck, and since I'm more of a P player, I decided to part it all out and let it go. This listing is for the J body part-out, and all the parts were pulled from this body. Includes as follows:

1. 1970 Fender Jazz body, refinished (badly) in spray-can black. The 4 bolt neck plate from the body reads 289XXX, which places it at 1970. It has a route on the lower horn that probably held a battery at some point, with a route leading to the electronics cavity as well. Would make a great restoration project. I'm including the strap buttons and neck plate (with bolts) with the body. Neck plate is 4-bolt with large "F" in center, with no rusting/pitting on chrome. $450 shipped.

2. Early 70's Fender Jazz tort pickguard. In good shape structurally with no cracks, but there's an odd-looking repair on the lower horn right over where the bass was routed (see pics). Cosmetically, it looks like a piece of diamond-shaped duct tape on the top side, and the underside of the spot looks to have been sealed with some sort of pink putty. This piece is obviously far from mint, but would make a great addition to an early 70's Jazz project or current "relic." No screws included. $100 shipped.
SOLD

3. Early 70's Fender Jazz/Precision bridge. No major rusting/pitting on the chrome, but there is a bit of black paint on the back from the body. Includes original screws. $80 shipped.

4. Early 70's Fender Jazz electronics set. Includes control plate, knobs and pots. No major rusting/pitting on the chrome, but could probably use a good cleaning. No screws included. $175 shipped. SOLD

5. Early 70's Fender Jazz pickups (bridge and neck). In good shape cosmetically with wiring/covers, but they will need to be rewound. My luthier tested them at 7.24 for the bridge, 5.71 for the neck. $125 shipped. SOLD

If you're interested in the vintage P neck, that listing is here:

I'm sure there will be a lot of questions about these items, so please feel free to ask away. If you'd like to see detailed pics of anything, please PM with your email and I'll do my best to get them to you ASAP. All shipping prices are CONUS via PayPal.

Could you post close-up pics of all those parts? What's the weight of the body? Also, would you consider selling the body loaded?

Neck pickup. Number on back is 7430. I originally said I didn't have the pickup screws, but I do have the screws for both.

Bridge and back of pickguard. Not sure why that foil is on there, but it could be easily removed - I haven't touched it.

Not sure of the body weight, but I'll try to find out. I might willing to work out a deal for the loaded body, but the buyer will be responsible for re-assembling.

Thanks for the pics!

The pickups being gone might be a deal breaker, but please post a price for the whole lot, unassembled of course.

Everything is still for sale - potential buyers on the pickups seem to have flaked out. I'd take $1000 shipped for the whole lot if anyone's interested in doing that.

Pickups are gone, but feel free to make offers on everything else. Really don't wanna resort to Ebay!
