(NOTE: Neck is NOT included)
Here's another Warmoth walnut J bass body up for grabs. The finish is thin satin nitro. I've played this one only in studio. Never gigged. Mint condition.
The pickup is from SGD. It's a Neodymium "Series 3" model humbucker. Same shape as an EMG 35 pickup. Really cool tone. Here is a link: http://www.sgd-lutherie.com/pages/pickups.html
The pickup cavity has been shielded with copper tape and connected to ground. Totally hum free.
Overall weight is pretty light for walnut. The complete bass weighs 9.2 pounds, so the loaded body is probably about 6.5 pounds.
Neck pocket will fit any neck by Fender, Warmoth, USACG, or AllParts. Oh, and the bridge is a Gotoh 201. $300 shipped in the lower 48 states.

Not to sound ignorant, but is this pickup active or passive?

I'm the same way - I just love the vintage style stuff. The body you have in this thread is beautiful, but I'm like you ...I know if I got it I would end up moving it. Real beauty though, and a great price too...I'm sure it'll make someone really happy.
