I thought I ordered the correct de-tuner for my G&L Trib. Not quite. The holes don't line up on one side like they should. This is supposed to fit Musicman and G&L. It does not fit the tribs. If you have a Hipshot that will fit either a Trib or a Fender Hwy One drop me a line.

This was order from GC to get my order over a $$$ for free shipping. I am in no hurry to unload. Hoping a trade can be worked out with another TB player.

Might be interested in other things, never hurts to ask.

Good Luck fellow bass lovers.

Hey, I just fell in the same trap. I too have an L-2000 and bought a BT-1 a couple of weeks ago here at the forums, just to find out it does not work.

The sad part is that there is no matching Hipshot Bass Xtender for the G&L Tributes. The Tributes tuners have a hole pattern on their own. After extensive research I found this diagram here, created by another user:
hipshot xtender question (bt2)
Look for the file "Tuner dimensions.pdf"

So your only option is to drill new holes to make it fit. You might want to email Hipshot support to get an official word, they are really responsive. I will just leave it the way it is.

Good luck on your trade!

Thanks man, I won't be drilling holes to make it fit. In fact these L2000 tuners look almost exactly like the ones that are on my fender highway one. Hole spacing wise. I have not taken one of them off yet, side to side comparisons seem pretty close.

I am going to give Hipshot a jingle. I'll update this if I find anything useful to add.
