For Trade, or will sell for $25 shipped ConUS, my set of La Bella Deep Talkin' Flats, "Original 1954," model number 0760M, aka "Jamerson Flats." These are great strings. I bought them here on TB used but in "as new" condition. Will be shipped in original packaging.
I was not sure I would keep them, so I did not cut them. They have been strung on my P-bass since I bought them. Top-loaded on the bridge so no bends or creases. They sound great. I just decided the thicker gauge is not as good a fit for me. Ideally I would like to trade them for a set of La Bella 760FL or FS. Also, I would welcome a trade for a set of TI Flats, JF344's.
If you have a set of flats of comparable value, let me know. No Fender's please, already have those.
Also, I could throw in a nice brown suede Levy's strap and/or a set of Fender 9050L strings in the deal if necessary.
Thanks guys!

They are not easy to play, but talk about "wallop"!

These strings definitely feel tight compared to others, but they are not as hard to play as I would have thought. I did a 3 set gig with them this past weekend and my hand and wrist were not more sore than they would have been on any other gig. in fact there was no soreness at all.
I have developed a "Jamerson strings" way of playing in order to accomodate for the string tension. Basically, I just got used to pressing harder. Its made my hand stronger, and truth be told I can play 90% of the parts to all ours songs just as easily as on other strings.
There is a reason these strings are on the bass still. I have never felt the kind of thick punch on my P-bass that I feel with these strings. Its a really great feeling on stage to feel that support that I give the band, all the while being able to hear the way that the sound, though big and fat, still comes through nicely in the mix. Not muddy.
I wont be sad to keep these on the P-bass. I am tempted to buy a set of new 760FS strings, and keep the Jamersons, play both for a while and keep the set I like best.
Got a couple gigs coming up and definitely am excited to play them with these strings. The band I am in plays a lot of Motown, oldies, disco, and 70's rock. All perfect for these strings.
Guess it sounds like maybe I should just close this thread and keep the strings... I'll think about it... |

They were the most expensive strings that lasted the least amount of time. Two of them started to unwrap around the 5th fret after only 3 weeks of casual use. I'd never seen a pair of flats last so little time.

Other than to say these strings have served me quite well and are in excellent shape. I think the track record on them is that they are tanks. The tension level is more the issue than durability. |

At least it was me causing the damage. But I'm afraid that issue had caused me to be done with Labella strings. Good luck with this sale, someone wants these.

If these don't sell I might reconsider trying them on my slide bass...
