FT: My Aguilar OBP-1 for your Spector Tone Pump (trim pot edition).

Sign in to disble this ad
My two main gigging Spectors have these two pre's in them. I'm leaning towards liking the Tone Pump more (No, I am not nuts.....and neither am I).

I will trade even but here's the catch. As the OBP-1 is in my only 4 string I would need the Tone Pump in my posession first to switch them and then send the removed Tone Pump.

I'm thinking just the preamps themselves, but if you have 25K pots for active EMG's wired Vol/Blend and would rather have my Vol/Vol settup (with just the pickup & jack wires disconected) we could exchange pre's pre-wired to the pots already. Your choice.

Thanks

What do you think about the tone pump jr. with the mids? Been thinking about changing the preamp in my Legend custom.

I don’t think the three band is a Tone Pump Jr. I believe it was something else they were using at the time. I took a Jr. out of a Legend 6. It wasn't until I changed the pups that a big final change occurred.

Tonepumps are 2-band only.

That's what I thought.
I'm not as familiar with the jr. or the early Legends that have a three band pre.

My bad. I was sadly mistaken. The Legend custom I have comes with an EMG B-30rev. s 3 band eq. My Rebop has the tone pump. I often wondered why they sounded so different. Going to be upgrading both next month. If you don't have it figured out by then, check with me.

I have one of these I got in a trade awhile back. The one you are looking for has the trim pot on the bottom of the preamp right? Do you have any other preamps besides of OBP1? I am a huge OPB3 fan!

Yes. The non-trimpot version is just a black box.
The OBP-1 is the only pre I have for trade.

Considering the OBP-1 sells for more and seems to be much more popular (there are even a lot of Spector lovers that absolutelly hate the Tone Pump. They replace them and call it a "Tone Dump" ), I thought I'd have people lined up to make this trade on the first day.

Looks like I may have a possible trade, but I'll bump until I know for sure.
