FT: my Fatstack 5s for your Big Single 5s

Sign in to disble this ad
I put some fatstacks in my R bass, they do sound very nice, but I would like to have the grind that the Big Singles have.

if you have any interest, let me know. Pickups were installed, and the bass was played twice since. I use primarily a jazz 5 with single coils and a east retro pre, and want to get the R bass sounding close to that.

JIC, also have an audere preamp with the external side mounted jack and the passive tone control. IMO, passive tone controls are a necessity. I guess 125 shipped on that?

FatStack

Big Single

Not his, obviously.

And just for comparison's sake...

Big Split

They all look alike. Other than the Dual Coils

The Nordstrand website even uses the same b-fatstack JPG image for each of them other than the dual coils.

Any interest in a pair of Big Splits? I installed them last month, and they've only been played at home. I would be interested in checking out the Fat Stacks in this bass.

Audere still available? If so, could you give model number. I don't know which one is the deluxe. Thanks!

They do look exactly the same... that's the point. Nordstrand actually uses the same exact image for all of the different models that look similar.

On this page.

http://www.audereaudio.com/Scripts/p...p?idCategory=7

I have the one tha says..

Z-mode J Deluxe Pre - Vol, Mid/Bal, Tre/Bass, Tone (JZ3D-VB-3B-T)

Jazz Deluxe Style (side mount jack)
Tone knob + 3 Bands of Tone Control.
Volume, Mid/Balance stack, Treble/Bass stack, Tone, External Jack.

I suppose 120 shipped would be fine.

Have you tried running the Fatstacks as single coils? I think it's a great sound.

it's not the single coil sound. close, but not the same. it's a polite version of it.

Yeah, I guess so. I'm one of the folks that found Big Singles to be a bit harsh, so I prefer the Fatstacks, especially with the capability to do single coil or humbucking mode.

Free bump...good luck with the trade.
