FT: New and Used Strings (GHS, DR, Labella, R. Cocco)

I've got a bunch of strings I'd like to trade out so I can find THE strings for my P-Bass. Two packs are new, the others are only lightly used.

I'll start with new sets. First up, a brand new set of GHS Progressives (M8000X). The gauges are .045, .065, .085, .106. The E-string is tapered. 38" from ball end to silk. I have a set on the P-Bass right now and they sound pretty nice. Definitely better than I expected. Seem pretty bright and would probably cut through the mix.

Second is a brand new set of custom Labella Stainless Steel strings. The package just says "Perfectly Balanced". If memory serves me, the gauges are .065, .085, .105, .130. Both the B and E strings are tapered and have black silks. They're all roundwound strings.

Now onto the used sets. First is a set of DR Nickel Lo-Riders. Gauges are .045, .065, .085, .105. They are cut to fit a 2x2 headstock. I had them on a Spector. They're lightly used, sound great, and I need to try a set on my P-Bass (hint hint).

Second is a set of DR Sunbeams. The gauges should be .045, .065, .085, .105. I'd say they are just passed the stage of being "broken in". They were used at two or three band practices (P-Bass). At first they felt a little rough, but now they feel great, sound great, and have the right amount of zing. I'm basically saving you the trouble of roughing up your fingers!

Next we have a wonderful custom set of Circle K strings. The gauges are .055, .073, .098, .130. They sound ****ing great. I had them tuned to Drop B and they're cut for a 2x2 headstock (these were also on my Spector). These saw a moderate amount of play time, mind you it was only for writing material for a solo project. They weren't used for extended periods of time so they should last quite a while.

Finally, I have a set of R. Cocco Nickel strings that were cut for my T-40. It has a string-through body so the strings are bent. Gauges are .045, .065, .085, .105. These have a bright, full sound with lots of definition to them. I bet they sound great in a mix/band setting. They only saw light use. I would also like to try a set of these on the P-Bass (take another hint).

I might have some other sets (and loose strings) kicking around and will add them when I find them. I think I have a custom set of Rotosound 66 for D Standard.

A few sets of strings that I'd like to try on this particular bass are:
-D'Addario EXL165
-D'Addario EXL230
-D'Addario EPS165
-DR Nickel Lo-Riders
-DR Dragon Skin
-GHS Brite Flats
-GHS Precision Flats
-R. Cocco Nickels
-SIT Power Steels
-SIT Power Wounds

I'll entertain offers, but I'd love to get my hands on some of those. I'd prefer to keep the value of the strings as close as possible. I don't want to trade the R. Cocco set for D'Addarios that are half the price. Just trying to be fair.

I'd like to keep this as close to home as possible, just to cut down shipping costs and wait time. They're only strings, but I've spent so much on shipping lately.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Let's trade some strings!

I just shipped a set of the GHS Precision Flats, they are good strings I think you'll like them on the P Bass. I've been thinking of trying Sunbeams on my P. How did they sound?

I really like sound of the Sunbeams, but they were a little rough at first. I do a lot of fast slides (I'm in a crust/grind band) and it was tearing my fingertips up. It doesn't last long, but if I need to do multiple string changes when playing a lot of shows or touring, it's a turn off.

So far, I think for this particular bass/sound, I'm liking GHS Pressurewounds the most.

DR Sunbeams are gone.

I think I have some Pyramid Gold flats, but I know I don't have the G-string.
