FT Q-tuner BL-5 for Q-tuner BS

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking of switching from soapbar style Q-tuners to the Jazz style. I currently have a set of BL-5's, one high Z and one medium Z, and I would like to trade one of them for a high Z BS.

Or both of them for a set of BS's.

Anyway, mine are fairly new (about a year old), in great if not brand new condition (I can't find any wear marks), and I did not trim the wires when I hooked them up, so the length is original. The dimensions (I just measured them) are identical to that listed on the Q-tuner web site. So I guess the size has not changed since I ordered mine.

...hmmm...well, these are on my fretless right now, and I don't know if I want to go 4 weeks (usual wait time to order new) without access to a fretless, but if I don't get any trade replies, I might have to sell first, then order. Bit tight on bass cash this summer...

Out of curiosity...why do you want to switch to the BS style? My understanding is that a BL in OXO mode sounds practically identical to a BS. Do you desire a different DC resistance?

I hadn't heard that. Course, I haven't heard much

I was trying to get more of a jazz bass sound than a soapbar bass sound out of my bridge pickup, something a little brighter...punchier.
