FT: T-40 parts

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I have for trade a number of T-40 parts. This includes:

Body
Neck
Neck Plate w/ screws
Tuners & String Tree
Bridge
Control Knobs
Wiring Harness
Pickguard w/screws
T-40 Case (excellent conditon)

These were all destined for evil-bay, but I thought I would give the TB crowd a shot at them first.

All the hardware is in superb condition, much better than I have seen on a lot of T-40s.

If you are looking for some T-40 parts, here's a great chance. Basically, this includes everything except the pickups.

Here are some of the things I would be interested in trading for:

Good P Bass pickup, like a Rio Grande Muy Grande or possibly a SD Quarter Pound.
Good short scale neck.

Now, wouldn't that be a super DarkStar project?

Great Darkstar project, but if I could afford those, I wouldn't be getting rid of these parts.

Don't have anything to trade, but if you'd be willing to sell -- let me know about the pickguard + knobs (really just need 1 knob).

I've had a lot of inquiries and offers regarding the parts. I haven't made any deals yet. A couple of people have asked about possible sale, or for my approximate valuations on the items for trade purposes. That's a reasonable thing to ask for.

I'm still looking for the perfect trade, but below is what I would sell these for if I don't find that perfect trade. Obviously, when you are parting a bass out, the individual pieces wind up being more expensive than the whole, but you knew that. The best guide I have for these things is what they have sold for recently on that online auction site we all love to hate.

Body $50 plus shipping
Neck $85 shipped
Neck Plate w/ screws (go with the body)
Tuners & String Tree $50 shipped (or together with neck for $125)
Bridge (These sell on ebay for $75 plus shipping. Condition seems to be the key here. Mine is beautiful. I'd ask $65 shipped for it.)
Control Knobs (Wow. These have been selling on ebay for $20 each plus shipping, which is pretty crazy. I'd ask $15 each plus Priority Mail shipping, or $65 shipped for the set of four. These things must be pretty hard to find in good condition, and mine are in superb condition.)
Pickguard w/screws (excellent condition...cheap imitations run $40 plus shipping. I'd ask $35 shipped.)
Wiring Harness $25 (or $55 for pickguard and wiring harness)
T-40 Case (this is the one with the full fur lining...my son may have dibs on this for his Peavey)

Naturally, I'll entertain any offers or combinations of trade/sale. Money talks, and I'd rather sell this stuff in big chunks rather than little bits.

Thanks.

Everything has been traded except for the wiring harness, two of the control knobs, and one pickup ring. (The pickup ring is not cracked, like most I have seen.)

These items are still available.

I have no PMs on this.

The only thing left is the T-40 wiring harness, and it is listed in another thread, so I'm closing this.

Thanks to all.
