Hipshot A Style 5 string bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a brand new chrome bridge that was custom made for string thru option.. I had it made for a Sadowsky bass that I ended up selling.. I just received the bridge 2 weeks ago...I believe it's brass.. It connects with 4 screws...The hardware is included as well as the string ferrules.. Asking $110.00 which includes shipping in the US only.. Will add pics later...

Is that 19mm or 18mm for string spacing? THX!

I double checked with Bill at Hipshot today.. It's 19mm, but you can get close to 18mm with string adjustment.. He also mentioned this bridge is a 1 of a kind...

...am I missing something? All A style bridges are string through - what was done to this bridge?

You can get string thru as an option.. This bridge was made for a Sadowsky bass.. It had to be a custom job with the string thru option for me to be able to use it on the Sadowsky I had... It can be used on any bass though...

I am looking for a 5 string A and I normally love to get parts from fellow bass players. But I am not seeing the value - a new one from Hipshot is $111 and they all have the string-thru option.

What is custom made about this bridge?

"All style A bass bridges feature top load or thru the body stringing options."

The satin aluminum one is $111, a new chrome one is $126. So technically, there is a savings.

As I said in the previous reply, it had to be custom made to use for the Sadowsky I had.. For where the mounting screws were on the Sadowsky bridge, it would have not worked with the string thru option.. You can call Bill at Hipshot for a better explanation... I paid $125.00 for the bridge and $12.50 for the string ferrules plus shipping.. I basically have $140.00 into it.. You welcome to make an offer or just buy one on your own...
