Lakland 5 string pickups F/S, F/T $110

Sign in to disble this ad
I upgraded my Lakland JO5 with Nordstrand pickups and an Audere pre-amp. These are the Lakland Hanson (LHS) 5 string pickups. I'd like to pass them on to someone who wants them. New they go for $140 for the set as per the Hanson website. http://hansonpickups.com/products.htm

How about $110 shipped US only.

No low blow offers as I'm not desperate for money. I'd just as soon keep them for a J bass project build. I'm open to trades as well. Not sure what I'm looking for but throw trades at me and let's see!

Pic below.

Pole Spacing?

What's the pole spacing B-to-G on these?

Curious how they'd work in a Fender Jazz V with it's slightly narrower spacing?

From pole to pole, 3-1/8 inches for the shorter pup and 3-1/4 inches for the longer pup. I think I measured it right. It should work on a USA Fender V as they are standard sized 5 string jazz pups.

Hey thanks. The pickup shells are the same size, but the string spacing on the Fender V is 18mm @ the bridge, vs. 19mm for a Lakland.

Measuring from the center line between the 2 G-poles to the center line between the 2 B-poles, I get the following with the stock Fender pickups:

Neck - 2.625" (2 5/8)
Bridge - 2.75" (2 3/4)

Measuring center of outer G-pole to center of outer B-pole, I get:

Neck - 2.875" (2 7/8)
Bridge - 3.00"

And just to be anal (because I am), outside edge of outer G-pole to outside edge of outer B-pole gives me:

Neck - 3.094" (3 3/32)
Bridge - 3.156" (3 5/32)

I prefer the strings to line up between the poles, but I also know that it matters less that they are perfectly aligned and more that the strings sit completely in the magnetic field when vibrating.

I'm interested, but I want to verify the spacing issue before I commit to anything. My gut feeling is that it'll be just fine. The pragmatic engineer in me says "measure 4 or 5 times and install once"...

Thanks again.

I was under the impression that USA Fender V's were more like 18.5mm-18.75mm per the Fender experts here. MIM Fender V's have the tighter spacing IIRC. I'll measure again this evening though.

MIM Fenders are definitely tighter than the USAs. I measured the USA last night and it's about 22/32" which is ~18.25mm. So we're pretty close. Certainly close enough.

As far as the Laklands, don't worry about measuring them again. I'm pretty certain they will be absolutely fine based on another conversation I've had.

I'll PM you when I'm ready. Leaning very heavily toward purchasing them.

Thanks.
