Up for sale is a rare set of LANE POOR M4.5W Wide aperture single coil Bass pickups. These were pulled from a Modulus Quantum 6 string bass. They are in great shape and sound amazing. These are very sought after for their hi-fi sound. Pickups are date marked 10/98 with consecutive #'s 3833,3834 initialed G.C. The "M" family of pickups was developed primarily as replacements for basses with existing Bartolini and EMG "DC" pickups of the same size. However, these pickup models were also popular with luthiers building new instruments with these standardized pickup sizes. M-family pickups share a common set of housing sizes, and can be used interchangeably in basses which are routed for that same pickup size. All M-family pickups are 1.50 inches in width, and have a 1/8 inch corner radius. This set is 4.5" long. Wide aperture pickups consist of a single coil, which "senses" a relatively wider portion of the string. Defining characteristics of wide aperture pickups include a more well-rounded, "cleaner" tone than narrow aperture pickups. They have good fundamental response with a pleasing balanced tone across the spectrum. They can be compared to a "Fender Precision" bass pickup whose magnetic profile is similar.
