Lightweight B. Hefner P-bass body in Ash

I've got a B.Hefner P-bass body blank I picked up a couple of years a ago for a project that I am ending up using another body for.

So here it is. Less than 4.5 pounds a B. Hefner Co. Precision Bass body blank. It has one imperfection on the back which I have tried to photograph. It is nothing more than a crevasse in the wood.

It's got a minimal control cavity and side mount for the jack.

Will a standard p pickguard cover the control cavity or Will it require a '51 style plate/guard?
