I was driving 25 miles back from WOU a college i intend on a nice country highway 55mph and a suv pulled out off a street , i braked and veered to the shoulder not to much or i would have went off a huge hill , i struck the SUV at 55mph in a 1984 mazda , small truck no air bags, the firewall crumpled around my knees. The police are amazed i was able to get out and run to assist the other driver they said i should have been dead or at least broke multiple bones, later after the adrenaline rush i realized my knee was hurting badly , but due to my breaking and veering i hit the SUV behind the drivers potentially saving the 16 year old girls life.
Long story short , i only paid 700$ for the truck with DMV fees and other parts i had about 1000$ into that truck and had it 3 months, it was there fault but I am out a car and hoping for a rental until i get a settlement, Untill then i am selling stuff to be able to get some kinda beater as school is 25 miles away. Hoping the settlement gets me at least 2000$ as i got a steal on the truck with 59,000 original miles and now that thing is totaled, still runs amazingly little mazda i will miss.
