Up for sale is a Made in Japan Fender Precision neck. Serial Number is E648733 which places the date of manufacture between 1984 and 1987.
The neck was on a P I bought in the early 90's and it's seen it's share of club dates since then. I just replaced it with a Warmoth Tele neck as I have small hands and prefer a thinner neck. I've been meaning to do this for past 17 or so years but the bass was a backup and while kept in good working order it wasn't played on a daily basis.
There are some cosmetic issues, but it's totally playable and in good working order. It's straight and the truss rod is fine. The rosewood fretboard is immaculate. The frets could stand to be dressed but none need replacing.
As to the cosmetics, there are four things which I've attempted to show in the pics below:
- I like to play the cymbals occasionally and I'm too lazy to pickup a drum stick so the headstock has a few nicks.
- There's a one inch scratch in the finish behind the 2nd fret.
- There are two small dings on the bottom of the neck, at the 3rd and 9th frets resulting from a fall off of a stand.
- There is an area approx. 1" x 1/4" where the finish is worn away on the top at the 12th fret. It's ugly.
Not interested in trades unless you have a Soundblox Pro Multiwave Bass Distortion. Shipping is to the CONUS only.
