Modified Pedal Heaven!

Some of you may know that I mod pedals. i have a particular expertise in Big Muff type circuits and i also cracked the awesome but lean sounding Boss DS-1.

This classified is not meant to represent any company or advertise any wares other than those listed.

Below is a picture and a list of my "babies" in various stages of design and use.

I'd like to clear out the stable and make way for new projects.

Each of these are either prototypes, one offs, or new pedals that I bought in bulk to mod.

I will post clips later on, but for those alreayd familiar with some of the threads i've done - perhaps knowing I'm selling is enough.

1. Boss BD-2: Monte Allums h20 mod installed with a white water clear LED. This pedal has a great overdrive and the mod certainly makes this pedal more of a "juicer" in that is supercharges like a clean boost. it still lacks some lower bass but throw this guy in a loop and you'll be a happy camper. It's LOUD! It's in great condition.
$75 shipped

2. NYC BIG MUFF: Modded to my take on the classic Russian muff sound. All panasonic metal film caps, tone circuit (to reflect my own values that really work for live use) Transistors to BC184Cs, Diodes to 1N4148's. I lessened the gain overall but it made the fuzz...well... burly especialy when i reduced the tranisitor stage caps from 470pf to 560pf. This is a clean clean pedal that also has a lot of volume now. Water Clear Blue LED. This pedal has Doom written all over it.
$100 shipped

3. LED Muff: This is my prototype of a muff that uses LED type diodes for clipping in only one stage. Like a cross between a Tonebender and Muff with much less expansive fuzz and more atriculate, punching gain. This pedal is GREAT for guys that want a fuzz but also LOVE their fingerstyle. you get great definition - and I'm not talking more highs - i mean the fuzz is deep and TIGHT! Uses and LED and a 1N4002 diode in the second clipping stage, first stage is wide open. uses BC184C transistors. Water clear blue LED. and the pedal is TINY a little bigger than an MXR box.
$100 shipped

4. Boss DS-1: this is MY MOD! I did all the research and value swapping and I can say it really works for those of you that like the DS-1 tone but don't like the low end loss. I have 5 that are new and one that is used. These behave like a tube amp - according to those who have heard them. Water clear blue LED
New ones modded out of the box: 5 available
$95 shipped
Used one that I modded
$75 shipped

5. GGG ITS: Modded to FT Bassdrive specs. Doesn't sound exactly like the original - but it is a great sounding and responding TS clone optimized for bass. Has a TON of volume if necessary. Regular red LED. BB sized box.
$75 shipped

6. SD Lava Box: This is an OD/Dist box from Seymour duncan. Not much I could do with it as most of the components are surface mount - but I did increase 3 caps on the rotary tone - that affect setting 4, 5, and 6. So I'd use those more for bass. Power adapter use ONLY!!! I do not have the unit's adapter but it'll run off any 9v boss style supply (that's the one I tested it with)
$50 shipped

"Shipped" implies the CONUS. for outside we'll work something out.

I may be willing to do trades for a few or for services. Especially someone who is confident with installing threaded inserts in necks, shaving a neck, and refinishing.

In terms of gear I'm looking for BFM cabs, Small wattage tube amps, dynamic mics (57s and 58s), mic cables, and other cool stuff.

but of course cash is king.

Thanks ladies and gents,

Michael

that's exactly what it should sound like with the gain knob halfway up.

The FT bassdrive uses a 1 Meg pot on the gain and a really big input cap - that's the ONLY difference between it and a FT Fulldrive and two of the few changes that differentiate it from the stock Tubescreamer.

This pedal has a lot of gain and a lot of volume.

I'd check out the BD-2 mod pedal for more of true OD.

The TS clone will be treasure to some - trash to others.

don't get me wrong, it sounded good, I was just expecting something edgier with less gain. what kind of bass did you use?

OH YEAH! i almost forgot

I recorded all of those clips with a P-bass and flats

DUH that's why it sounds a little more mellow too.

also keep in mind the tone control is at noon too. the pedal gets a bit gankier at higher tone settings.

Folks,

my pedals are lonely.

they want to make loud noises and do dirty things for you.
