These are the HC's pups Carey designed to have a tone as close as possible as the NJ4 Single Coils that sell for $230.
Both pickups have plenty of Lead length. The grey wire on the pickups (shown in the picture) is use to tied to ground / shield ground for those that have a preamp, like the Audere, where the pickup common (BLK wire) is not tied to ground. If no preamp, tied to the same spot as the pickup common.
The grey wire is actually connected to copper shield tape on the underside of the pickups. I believe (I could be wrong) it is there to reduce / eliminate the popping pickup noise when the pickup poles are touch while playing.
The pickups are used but in excellent shape with plenty of Lead length.
There is a strip of transparent tape on both pickups to keep the covers on while not installed for those for those who notice it.
