Nordstrand single coil 5 string jazz-type bass pickups

Sign in to disble this ad
NJ5 - Five string single coil jazz pickups. From the Nordstrand web site- This is a vintage single coil J style pickup made with 60’s era correct Heavy Formvar wire and Alnico V magnets. In winding these pickups we use a simulated hand wound pattern that lowers the resonant peak of the pickup resulting in a pleasing yet present high end. These pickups have a very even and full sound with that snap and grind associated with the classic basses of that time. Includes black covers (exposed pole pieces). These are very fat sounding with plenty of growl and bark.

They are not the Fender drop in replacements. Both the neck and bridge pickup are 3.700" long.
Pickups are used, but WELL shielded and in good condition. (mounting screws included) Sold

You are correct. If you read my post, it states these are NOT the Fender drop in replacements.

I think the confusion is that according to the Nordstrand website, the pickups that use "Heavy Formvar" wire are the NJ4, NJ5f, and mm5.2.

What pickups are you selling?

They are NJ5 pickups and according to the Nordstrand web site- Five string single coil pickups in the same style as the NJ4. This means they have the same specs in a 5 sting design. They too use Heavy Formvar wire. Fender "style" has do do with the size of the pickups and not how they are wound.

I wish these would fit in my bass without modification. Nice pickups.

gday mate any interest in shipping to australia ?
if so can you tell me the string spacing . lets say from the middle of the g string and b string poles (ie where the string would sit) at either end ? if you get me .

and how deep the pickups including covers are (measurement wise, not sound or philosophically)

cheers
Paul
