NOS 5-string Flatwound Strings - TI & Dean Markley

Sign in to disble this ad
I got the Dean Markley set way back when I got my 5-string fretless. Never had occasion to install them. I don't think they're available anymore. Not sure about the metallurgy, but the gauges are 45/65/80/100/125 - what they call LT (short for "light" I assume).

The TIs, well you probably know them, at least by reputation. 43/56/70/100/136 - 34" scale. SOLD - no more available.

I am selling just one set of each for $50, shipped CONUS. How about $95 for both? EDIT: $30 for the Markleys, that's all that's left.

See final post for trade info.

Sale pending on the TIs. (What took you all so long? ) EDIT: 1st set SOLD

The Dean Markleys are still available. IIRC they cost something like $65 in 2001 and they're untouched by human hands. Make me an offer!

Price Drop Bump

How about EDIT $30 shipped for the Dean Markleys? That represents a pretty good deal for a quality, unused 5-string flatwound set, IMHO.

I'd also consider trades, particularly for LaBella or Pyramid 4-string flats or tapewound.

If you still have the TI's I would trade a barely used set of 4-string Joe Osborn flats that were only on my Jazz bass for a week or so.

Or a set of 4 string Infeld Superalloy. They're new except the E string. I put it on my P to hear it. gave it listen for like an hour, and slapped my TIJF's back on.

You said the TI sale was pending, so pending on if you like my offers.... we should get busy bro. What do you say?

One more set of TIs available.

I've decided to let go of one more set of the TI 5-string flats. The Markleys are also still available at a lower price (see above).

The only strings I would be interested in trading for would be NEW (4-string OK) Pyramid Gold or LaBella Jamersons for the TIs. Or 4-string LaBella Deep Talkin' Flats for the Markleys.

Otherwise, PayPal is cool!

EDIT: and the second set is GONE and that's all I got for TIs. Still got the Markleys, though - talk to me!
