Wink Old Fully Loaded Jazz Bass Body (Ash w Bad Ass II , Etc)

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought this for a project that just isn't going to happen. It's a old Jazz body. I was told that it is ash and I no reason to doubt it (feels pretty dense).

Couple cool things about this body. The old finish has some significant checking going on. I'll take better pics this eve. The finish is likely from the 70's.

The neck pup has no channel running between it and the control cavity and it's cut flush to the pickup just like the bridge pickup route. So if you are one of those guys that likes to go without a pickguard, this is the body for you. Only thing underneath are the pickguard holes (no extra holes either).

USA EMG pups and battery fits under the black control plate without issue (no extra routing done).

Bad Ass II bridge in great condition. Strap buttons are tight. Screw holes for pickguard are NOT striped out, etc. Everything is there. Just pop a neck on and you are set! I was told that it's an old Fender body, but I'm not 100% certain of that. For all I know it's an old MIA 60's or 70's Fender body which would really make this worth a lot of $. Blowing this out for just $265. The bridge and pickups are almost worth that alone.

According to my scale, 7.3 lbs. My scale if fairly accurate if not a hair heavy from what I have found... Remember, she's an old, fully loaded ash body with a big, Bad Ass II bridge on her. Most necks don't weigh much (2 - 3 lbs or so).

Quad, forgive me for the slight derail, but did you get this from me by chance? I had a body that had a very similar look, and don't remember where it went. I mean, down to the control plate it looks familiar. Regardless, would you be willng to part it out? And could you snap a picture from the butt end of the body, looking across to the neck pocket? Like, showing the strap pin with relation to the bridge and pickups?

Few questions since its hard to tell from the pictures.

Are there extra holes drilled into the neck pocket?

Does the control plate line up with the pick guard?

Yes, two extra, but they are filled on the pocket side.
