Not trying to be a jerk here.... but those aren't Dimarzio's.

Dimarzio's have red/black/white/green leads.

The ones since the 80's have the red/black/white/green.

These are older. I believe the red/green/etc wiring didn't change till the mid 80's...but I'm not 100% on that.

I'm pretty sure this is a 70's DiMarzio....the only other thing I can think of that it "might" be is an old Schaller, which was a pretty much dead on copy of a DiMarzio Model P.

Whatever the case, they sound effin great, and look (and sound) exactly like 70's DiMarzio Model P pickups....so for $45 these are a freakin steal.

hey man.... do you have anything recorded w. these? can you explain the tone a little? I have a Fender '50's Precision and it sounds a little thin. I am upgrading the electronics w. Orange Drop, CTS 250k, Switchcraft. Might as well do the pickup too.

Yep -

These are the ones I used in the "Simple Varitone" thread - you can hear them in the following sample (along with various varitone settings) - http://www.4shared.com/file/14641721..._-_P_BASS.html

Ok... one more question. I am a ding dong and dont know what the voltometer number means. Are they pretty hot? The pickups in my P are not as hot as the Ferrites in my Foundation. How would you compare the two? (i know one is jazz : ) )

Also just for fun. Do you remember what strings you used on the varitone demo? Can you PM me your paypal?

OK...I'll simplify things... higher DCR (the ohms reading) doesn't necessarily equate to "hotter output". That's a commonly misunderstood thing, so don't seat it. You can read more at Bill Lawrence' website.

However...yeah, these are pretty hot - good punch and grind, just really nice pickups. Typing this is starting to make me regret putting them up on the market....they sound REALLY good.

Strings on the Varitone demo are what I have on all my basses...D'Addario Chromes.

I'll PM you in just a sec !
