for sale two EMG-40DC pickups and Vari-mid pulled from an Ibanez SRT800DX. These things are barely used. Package deal with the Ibanez Vari-Mid pre-amp:
$150 shipped to continental U.S. I will ship expedited or to international users, but the extra cost will be covered by the buyer after I get the shipping quotes.
$140 for local San Francisco pickup. I can meet you near any Bart station. Willing to walk up to 1 mile from any bart station.
full disclosure: I bought the bass in 2010 and thought that I didn't like it. I intended to return it, but then accidentally put a small ding in the clearcoat. So I put the bass in a case and let it sit. I pulled it out a couple of times just to revisit it. Recently I got it out again as I'm selling things and really gave the bass a fair shake. Turns out, I think that I do like the bass, its just that EMG is not for me. (the body is not for sale).
These pickups came out of a 4-string bass, but they are in fact, the 5 string size EMG-40DC, not the 4 string specific EMG-35DC.
all the pots, wires, etc that I can extract from this thing will be included. It is setup for a single 9volt. The knobs will not be included. I intend to keep it as intact as possible, but just in case I am also creating a detailed wiring diagram. I intend to have the pre extracted and a complete diagram finished by tomorrow evening.
The only issue I noticed with the electronics is the mid-selector/mid boost-cut stack can be very slightly scratchy when turning the knobs. It otherwise sounds very good. A good match for these pickups and delivers gobs of the EMG sound. Could easily be replaced if desired.
The quick connect wires for the pickups are fairly generous, I think they should fit in most basses. If not, you can just get new wires, as the pickups use quck connectors, so they are not permanently wired.
any questions, please ask.

*note: the blue duct tape is covering the back of the PCB. There was a rubber/foam piece there with some adhesive, but it fell off right away and got covered in dirt.
