Well, this body is embarrasing. It started with good intentions, I was taking my time, then it came to grainfilling. I hate grainfilling now. Flamed redwood top on chambered ash body.
One embarrasing part; I was so excited to start that I didn't map out where I was chambering. In the neck pocket you can see one of the cavities poking it's head through. Because of my lack of planning, you can't throw a forearm contour on it, as you might expose another.
Another; the grainfilling. Have I mentioned that I hate grainfilling? Bartleys dark paste was used. Went well over the back, but the end grain ate my lunch. The cutaways need help, and sandpaper. Deft sanding sealer was used on the top to protect it as I worked on the back, but there is a little ding or two on it. The neck pocket and rear cavity were routed using Stew Mac templates.
Lets see, I think that is all the disclaimers. Should turn out to be a great bass. The top is thick, not some thin veneer, and the ash (two peice) has a great grain. But I don't have the time, and I'm looking at oral surgery very soon. Asking $75 plus half shipping.
No pics of the ash at this time, and I don't know when I can get back to the shop to take some. Sorry.

I should get some pics tonight, as I think this bad boy is sold . And I see a surgeon on Tuesday, it's not soon enough

I would be looking forward to it. Is the neck template cut for a typical Fender style neck? That would be my guess.

Don't worry Chris, it's going to a very talented luthier who can make it nicer that I could have imagined!
