SGD Lutherie 2-band Musicman Preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
Picked this up in an effort to tame the active EMG pickups in my Spector, and it does a remarkable job. But after a couple gigs I feel that this is mellowing out the Spector vibe to much.

So, i'm selling this SGD Lutherie 2-band Musicman Preamp.

It was custom wired to have center detents on the Bass and Treble knobs, and has 25k Vol/Vol pots for active pickups, though those are an easy swap with a soldering iron to whatever you need.

Having owned old and current Musicman basses I feel this preamp really does nail the old 2-band Musicman vibe and tone.

$110 new plus shipping from SGD...

Get this for $75 shipped.

Here's the SGD blurb about the preamp.
This is our first preamp offering. It's a very musical 2-band preamp based on a '76 Music Man Stingray. It's a faithful recreation using the original LM4250 - Programmable Operational Amplifier IC as on the original. I also use high quality metal film resistors, polyester film and tantalum capacitors, and quality Bourns and Alpha potentiometers. Pots have 1/4" shafts. It comes fully wired and tested, ready to drop in to your Music Man or other bass, or even a stomp box case for an external preamp."

Current Configuration is Vol Vol Bass Treble - 4 knobs

Removing one knob would be no problem, I could do it when I desolder it from my Spector.
