Short Scale SX Fretless + Piezo Part-Out: Body-Neck-Piezo Bridge-Noiseless PUPs+

Sign in to disble this ad
I've had this up in the basses section for a while and since it's still around I'm going to offer up individual parts. Here's the original listing:

FS: SX Fretless Short Scale Jazz, Piezo Bridge, Noiseless PUPs, Old Headstock

And here are all the various components with their respective prices:

SX Shortscale Jazz Body + neck plate + strap buttons $65 (note extra holes for piezo bridge)

SX Fretless Neck + tuners + string tree + mounting screws $70

Piezo equipped bridge + mounting screws $45

Neck size Fender Noiseless pickup + mounting screws $35

Bridge Size Dimarzio Model J + mounting screws SOLD. $35

(Add $10 to the Fender neck pickup and get bridge size Fender Noiseless which seemed to have low output...I didn't test extensively but am discounting accordingly)

Heavy-duty gig bag, sized to fit a short scale bass $25

Control Plate (includes push/pull pot) + mounting screws $20 (will include original 500k mini pot on request)

W/B/W pg + mounting screws $10 (only fits short scale SXs I believe)

Rotosound short scale tapewounds $15

Unknown short scale flatwounds $10

I'm going to wait til I get up to a hundred bucks in commitments before starting teardown so PayPal me to reserve your part(s) and if I don't get there, or you want your money back, just let me know and I'll send you a refund immediately. All prices include shipping, we can work out shipping discounts for multiple items of course...all the smaller parts go 1st class mail and the body / neck need to go FedEx. Selling prices are firm for now but I'll be more willing to negotiate once the bass has come apart. Not wanting to break down further than what's listed right now (e.g. the neck+tuners+string tree are one item). PM with questions. Thanks!

Ran a piezo without a preamp? What kind of bridge is that?

It's just a bridge with piezo elements. It works well in passive mode because of the way it's wired in with the magnetic pickup.

Do you happen to have a diagram drawn up? I've been wanting to try something like that for a while. Wish my funds were different I'd buy that bridge!

I'll take a tape measure and verify, but did a search and found someone saying the heel width of the neck is 2 1/4"...

Nope, actual measurement is 2 1/2" wide x 3 1/4" long.

Back up. I might strip this down and re-assemble as just a regular SX fretless jazz also.
