You may know this little tube pre. Uses the Cold War era miniature vacuum tubes, (a la the ZVex Nano et al.) which were designed for ICBMs. As the tubes were built to withstand accelerating from 0 to 3,000 mph in seconds, you don't need to worry if you drop this, they are rated for 10,000+ hours of operation. They also sound just as warm and real as their big bulky brothers.
One channel with switchable boost, can get a nice tubey overdrive if you want. Three-band EQ. Sort of like a more dependable and quieter version of the EBS ValveDrive, handmade by one guy. Sounds sublime. Details here:

I got it for bass, and it is perfect. It is also really nice with electric guitars (either direct, or used to warm up a solid state amp, or, even better, used as the front end to a tube amp) and basically anything that comes through a quarter-inch. Plugged into my V4BH (which I'm also selling), it makes some really nice sounds.
Mine is in like-new condition with original box and adjustable power source (you can adjust plate voltage with this, allowing a lot of tonal versatility). Clean polished steel case. These go used for about $350, and I'm thinking $320 OBO.
