I bought the P/J set, and I am using the P in my Vintage Modified P, so I have the J for sale. This will work for a 4 or a 5-string bass.
This is a passive pickup that is hum-cancelling.
From StewMac web site:
SELECT pickups have hum-cancelling design with wide bandwidth and high output. "Blade" polepieces provide more uniform string-to-string response. Each pickup is shielded and epoxy-sealed for low noise and microphonic-free performance. These are not "active" pickups and do not require batteries.
Bridge pickup
Dimensions: 3-11/16" x 11/16" x 29/32" tall, blade polepiece is 3" long
Mounting screw hole spacing: 1-19/32"
Neck pickup
Dimensions: 3-5/8" x 11/16" x 29/32" tall, blade polepiece is 2-7/8" long
Mounting screw hole spacing: 1-1/2"
Wiring: These pickups feature a shielded 2-conductor output wire. White is the hot output, yellow is ground. Use 250K or 500K pots, 500K will sound brighter than 250K.
