SOLD! WD Tortoise Shell Pickguard for 1970s Fender Jazz
This PG is used, but still in good condition. It does have some wear/scratches/swirling, but nothing major. It has a slight bow to it when it's not installed, but it lays nice and flat when screwed down (and I made sure). The tort is a nice reddish-brown and looks really good!
It has the mint green layer on the underside (not white). I think the mint makes it look a little more aged or "vintage" than the white layered ones. It also has the holes for the P/U cover and the thumbrest (above the strings in the mid-late '70s position). One of the thumbrest holes I had to drill myself, but it is in the right spot.
As far as fitment..
I installed it on my 1974 Fender Jazz and it fit wonderfully. ALL
the holes lined up perfectly. It was made for it.
I also tried this out on my American Vintage '74 Jazz (which I just sold) and it fit great, the mounting holes and thumbrest holes lined up fine, but just the 2 the P/U cover holes were slightly off. Fender changes small things like this on their reissues on purpose, to limit people from trying to pass them off as originals in the future.
WD charges over $70 shipped for these PGs new. I'd like to get.. $38 Shipped
