Here's an original 1974 Fender Jazz Bass Neck for sale.
1-piece maple w/ pearl blocks and white binding.
It is 100% original (including the nut) and it's un-modified.
Original finish.
No extra screw holes anywhere.
The original frets are still in great shape.
Truss rods works fine.
This neck is nice and straight. I have been using this neck the past couple months and it sets up and plays beautifully with low action and NO deadspots.
I believe it's a 1974 neck (which is by far the most common year for this particular neck), but the neckstamp is hard to read. I can't really tell what the 2nd to the last digit is (year). It could be the "2", could be the "5", but it also looks like there's either a "4" or an "A" at the end (which it could be either since this is an A neck). So take a look at the pic and you be the judge. One thing's for sure.. it's 1975 or earlier because it's still a 4-bolt. Either way, this neck would be period correct for a late '72 - to mid '75 Jazz Bass.
Overall the neck is in very good condition, especially for its age. The back is nice and smooth with no major dings (just a little ceiling rash on the end of the headstock). The headstock also has some very cool finish checking on it. The only thing worth noting is, there's a small surface crack on the fretboard, right in front of the 1st pearl block marker (see pic in the photo album). It has zero affect on playability (or structurally) and it's in front of the block (not on the fret side) so you will never feel it while playing.
