BUILD A KILLER FENDERBIRD J STYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A new Warmoth Thunderbird body that is 1/4 sawn mahogany, 2 piece center joint. Routed for Jazz neck and Jazz bridge pickups. Drilled 7/8 inch hole for an ElectroSocket jack cup (easily found on the net). Drilled for the Schaller roller bridge (3 holes) but if the buyer is going for a Fender or BadAss bridge, I will gladly drill the 4 extra holes (the center hole is the same for Schaller or Fender bridges. I do pro work! (Let me know if you buy.) Back control plate is included (of course) and I will include 3 CTS 1/4 inch solid shaft pots (with the longer stems needed for this bass) and a 047 capacitor.
Quarter sawn mahogany is very desirable because it has FANTASTIC wood grain that changes and looks different from various angles of sight. Definitely exotic prettier than flat sawn, which looks plain and typical!
I bought this almost 2 years ago from Warmoth and have failed to put it together. Not enough time, too many basses and a big sufferer of G. A. S. I'm giving up on this FENDERBIRD project! Breaks my heart (sorry John Entwistle)!
The body was sealed with Danish Oil well over a year ago. The body was also never final sanded but left exactly as Warmoth finishes their bodies from the factory. There are a few places in the cut-away that show some fine sanding scratches from the factory but all in all it's about 95% good to go. For those who are not overly particular and like natural finished wood, this body might be good enough just like it is. Others, with a final sanding with 400 grit paper and a gloss or satin finish, can make this body look...........BREATH TAKING!
Danish Oil is compatible with, Tung Oil, Birchwood Casey Gun Stock Oil, furniture urethane and nitrocellulose lacquer. So, a DIY type person can do a quality finish on this body. (Nitro lacquer spray cans are sold at Loews and StewMac.)
(A remark of opinion. Some complain that the T Bird Bass is neck heavy. Keep in mind, a strap button can be installed on the far edge of the chrome neck plate which is a much better place than on the traditional location. Also, the body shape of the T Bird allows for the arm to rest on the "up angle" of the body which prevents neck diving.)

Forgot to mention.............body weighs in at 5 lbs, 3 ounces. For mahogany, on the lighter side and for any bass body, pretty much average as Warmoth's typical bodies are around 4 lbs 8 oz to 5 lb 8 oz.
